If you want to listen to the most quintessentially British, I recommend a long-running BBC radio show called Just a minute. This is a comedy panel where contestants earn points by speaking on a topic for 60 seconds without deviation, repetition or hesitation.
I mention this because “I’ve never seen this before!” » This is precisely the type of subject they will have to address. In their case, it would most likely involve telling stories about otters or banana-shaped helicopters rollerblading.
No one, I suppose, would choose to ramble about being INVENTIVE, SEMINAL, or NOVEL. All words that in today’s Strands have been quite difficult to find.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Friday, January 2, Game #670)
- BLANKET
