I once visited a museum that demonstrated Archimedes’ understanding that moving water could measure volume – a moment that led him to run through the streets of ancient Greece shouting EUREKA – by hanging a slowly filling bath above visitors’ heads.
Once the bath reached critical time, anyone under the bath would be soaked – a quarter-hourly occurrence that delighted visiting children.
This memory didn’t help me with my own (fully clothed) EUREKA moment during today’s research, but it was a fun one that helped me get through the rest of the board, positing a THEORY that future AI-enabled Eureka moments will likely be a lot less fun.
