The answers to today’s Strands, game #697, are…
- HERO
- ICON
- SUPERSTAR
- CELEBRITY

It was a game of corners for me today, with HERO and ICON appearing immediately followed by SUPERSTAR before I even thought about the theme.
Before I heard my first words, I wondered if “talk of the town” meant gossip.
The words here all symbolize someone who is not just the talk of the town, but someone who has nailed the celebrity game – someone like Elton John or Timothée Chalamet, rather than someone from the neighborhood who appeared on a TV quiz show in the 1990s, which is the closest thing to CELEBRITY in reality.

- NOTICE
- LISTEN
- MEDITATE
