NYT Strands today (game #732) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #732, are…
- PUNISHLY
- SKINNY
- DERESS
- LITTLE
- shabby
- NEGLIGIBLE
- SPANGRAM: GEETHANKS
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: Fail (sort of)
I can’t help but think that some days the Strands Spangram is a bit of an afterthought. Today’s concept was essentially “small sums”, but GEETHANKS is a bit of an exaggerated phrase to describe the theme.
Anyway, I needed a clue to get started today, but once I got PUNY it was pretty obvious what was happening and I started finding these words SCANT and MEAGER. The problem was that these kinds of puzzles are difficult – give me a Strands that involves me thinking of words associated with basketball or birthday cakes or dogs or doors and I’ll be fine; give me one that basically requires the use of a thesaurus and I’m just not very interested.
To make matters worse, NEGLIGIBLE is essentially a word that’s almost impossible to spot when mixed together. So I cheated and used an anagram solver because frankly, life is too short to spend it that way. Maybe I’m just in a bad mood today…
