NYT Strands today (game #639) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #639, are…
- JUMP
- HOME
- HUNTER
- WIDOW
- RECLUS
- TARANTULA
- SPANGRAM: SPIDERS
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: 1 clue
I once had a severe allergic reaction to a bite from a RECLUSE variety of spider during a trip to Venice. It caused my legs to swell and left me with what looked like big bruises. In Italy they are called violin spiders, which makes them very talented.
Anyway, I digress. It probably says something about our modern age that my first thought upon seeing the “on the web” theme was the Internet, rather than SPIDERS. Even after adopting JUMPING, I was wondering “what does this have to do with websites?” »
A clue gave me HOUSE and I was finally on my way, feeling a bit stupid after seeing the spangram.
By the way, did you know that a JUMPING spider can jump 50 times its body length, which is the equivalent of a human jumping to the top of an eight-story building.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Monday Dec 1, Thu #638)

- DASHBOARD
- ZAMBONI
