Finland famously has 23 different words for snow, but I would say the English language comes pretty close when it comes to describing COLD weather.
Many words that describe NOTSOHOT conditions were missing from today’s word search, including sharp, frigid, sharp, bitter, arctic and my favorite, which may not have entered common parlance outside the UK, “taters”, often combined with the phrase “that’s taters sarge”, an idiom which comes from Cockney rhyming slang for cold or perhaps potatoes, no one knows.
