NYT Strands today (game #597) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #597, are…
- OPENER
- SCENE
- BIS
- HEADLINER
- GOODS
- SPANGRAM: LIVE CONCERT
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: Perfect
I don’t think I’ve ever spotted so many non-gaming words before and, unfortunately, this includes words I should have looked further for. If I had done that, I would have noticed that head was HEADLINER, open was OPENER and live was the LIVECONCERT spangram.
Instead, it was STAGE that put me on track to complete the game without resorting to any hints.
MERCHANDISE is an odd inclusion, and it was definitely the hardest word to spot, but I guess shelling out for a limited edition T-shirt or cap has become part of the concert experience.
In fact, at recent Oasis shows in London, many people queued to get in, not so they could get down to the front, but so they could buy the rarest products and then resell them online.
