Strands is the latest pun from The New York Times after Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections – and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so keep reading my Strands tips.

When the theme is completely over your head, the strands can be so difficult/impossible.
I’ve never felt as close to giving up as I did in this game, but luckily it was easy to spot dozens of non-gaming words – most of which you could add the letters ER to get another non-gaming word.
Even with all these clues, I still struggled, especially with the spangram.
Some post-game Google searches revealed that spangram is the title of a Disney TV show and that “Nevermore!” the theme is a riff on Alan Edgar Poe’s poem The ravenbut if I’m honest, I’m still perplexed. I finished it though.
