New Zealand 137 for 5 (Seifert 45, Allen 38, Rauf 2-20) Beat Pakistan 135 for 9 (Agha 46, Sodhi 2-17, Duffy 2-20, Sears 2-23) by five counters
The powerful power performance of New Zealand with Ball and Bat have comfortably sent Pakistan to the second T20i to Dunedin to give the hosts a 2-0 lead in the five-game series.
Sodhi complies the effort of NZ new ball
After the captain of New Zealand, Captain Michael Bracewell, opted for the Bowl, the growing delivery of Duffy had opened Duffy, the opener Hasan Nawaz made a boost at a back point in the first on himself. Sears then rejected an aggressive Mohammad Haris for 11 when he reduced the launcher in third place.
Agha, the captain of Pakistan, then contraindicated to give visitors to the sleeves, but the introduction by Bracewell of Sodhi paralyzed them. The attack edge of Irfan Khan off Sodhi saw him stop at the back, and two balls later, Khushdil fell back after being trapped in front of the strains by the wrist.
“The guys bowling in the wind have particularly played well,” said Bracewell after the match. “I think that when the counter has been under covers for about one day and offering an additional rebound, our quisors used the surface. We were quite satisfied with the half-time score.”
Allen, Seifert Bash Pakistan around
Playing Dunedin for the first time since his record rounds of 16 six against Pakistan in January 2024, Allen launched the prosecution by launching three six of Mohammad Ali deliveries in the second. Seifert went better in the third, breaking Afrida for four in the arc between the additional blanket and the deep square leg. With seven six in the first three Overs – the second largest number of this phase of any T20i (where the ball -by -ball data is available) – the openers seemed in a hurry to finish the game.
Seifert fell into the fifth, when he seemed ready for a quick half-century, because he put the slower ball of Ali in halfway. But his 22-ball 45 had made the elementary Chase. Allen then broke the designer of the left arm Jahandad Khan for the six consecutive in the seventh before before falling LBW according to ball. Its 16-ball 38 left New Zealand at 88 for 2 in seven overs, only needed 48 others of balls.
“After the first [maiden]thought it was a delicate pursuit, but Finn and I combined well, “Seifert, the match player, who returned to the T20i team before this series, said after the match.” As Kiwi, playing for the nation is great, and it’s fun to be back with the boys. You play with the best players in the world and it helps you know your game. As a player, you learn definitely and you improve. “”
The beginning allowed the average order of New Zealand to take their time, although Mark Chapman and Neesham fell for scores with a figure. Haris Rauf, playing instead of Spinner Abrar Ahmed, chose Daryll Mitchell and Neesham in fast succession, but the undefeated 16-ball of Mitchell Hay, and the winning border of Bracewell, brought the guests home with 11 balls to lose.
“The ground was small and we wanted to attack their quisors from a bit with the wind,” said Bracewell about the stick performance. “But the openers have become large from the two ends [smiles]. We are quite satisfied with where things are overall. “”
Pakistan Captain Agha said their own power performance was a discharge.
“It was a better match than the last match – a lot of positive points – but little to do,” Agha told the broadcasters. “We have beaten better but we must better finish our striker. The bowling alley was decent but we must be more consistent. We must understand and adapt to the rebound. After the power game, we have knocked well. We have overturned the patches, [but[ at the same time, we need to be more consistent in powerplay bowling.”
