Many exceptional robot lawn mowers await you this year. I got a sneak peek at all the new models from the big brands at CES, and it looks like lawn robots are seriously making headway this year (and I’ve also written separately about 2026 robot lawn mower trends that I think could make these automated garden helpers truly mainstream).
So, which models piqued my interest the most? Of all the lawn robots I saw at CES, these are the three I’m most excited to try…
1. Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD
This lawn robot’s predecessor blew my writer away when he tested it for our Mammotion LUBA 2 AWD review. The 2026 version is similar overall but just a little better across the board – to me this looks like the lawn robot to beat this year.
One of Mammotion’s strengths is its Tri-Fusion navigation system, which combines three navigation technologies, so the lawn robot can choose the one that’s best for each situation – and it (theoretically) never ends up getting lost. So there is traditional satellite navigation (ideal in large open spaces), LiDAR (ideal for tight areas with obstacles) and camera vision (perfect for precise object recognition).
All of these technologies have been upgraded on the LUBA 3. Satellite positioning has been changed so that there is now no need for a separate RTK station, eliminating a big setup issue. Mammotion now promises positioning accuracy of ±1 cm and the ability to react almost instantly to the environment.

2. Segway Navimow i2 all-wheel drive
In the compact lawn robot corner of the market, the one to watch is the Segway Navimow i2 AWD. It’s far from the flashiest of the 2026 robot lawn mower fleet, but it has a few nifty tricks that allow it to really stand out from competing models.
All-wheel drive (AWD) is rare in compact lawn robots. Here it’s not about climbing particularly dangerous terrain, but allowing the robot to treat your garden with the care it deserves.
A Segway Navimow representative explained to me that on non-AWD lawn robots, the wheel tread can slip on the grass when the robot needs to turn. Having each wheel powered independently eliminates this problem. It can spin the hairpin at the top of every neat strip of lawn without upsetting your turf.
In addition to this, Segway Navimow has added an “Adaptive Driving” feature to maximize battery life. Essentially, the front guide wheel will only be motorized when specifically needed – the brand claims this can increase range by up to 30%.

3. Roborock RockMow X1 LiDAR
My third choice is a bit of a curveball. Roborock is known for making some of the best robot vacuums on the market – it revealed its first lawn robots at IFA in September 2025.
I haven’t had a chance to test the first range yet (it’s not mowing season in the UK), but I’m intrigued to see if this brand can work its robovac magic in the lawn robot arena. At the top of my testing list is the Roborock RockMow X1 LiDAR, which is a brand new addition to the lineup in 2026.
LiDAR in lawn robots will be one of the biggest trends of 2026, but it is typically used as a complement to satellite navigation technology. It’s very rare that a robot lawn mower doesn’t use satellites at all, but that seems to be the case on this new Roborock model.
The RockMow X1 LiDAR uses LiDAR and VSLAM for orientation. These are two major robot vacuum navigation technologies, so Roborock has plenty of skills in its back pocket to draw on. LiDAR creates a 3D map of a space by reflecting light off obstacles, so it won’t work on wide-open, unenclosed lawns. However, on job sites with many obstacles and features, this might be ideal.
