Official slaps two motorcyclists to challenge the road closure

On Wednesday, Sho Rao Ali slapped two motorcyclists in Multan after trying to cross a closed road despite the restrictions imposed due to the threat of floods. Citizens would have tried to go from Garewala Chowk on the opposite side, ignoring security measures.

The police sealed Mohammad Wala Road overnight while the rising waters of the Chenab river threatened the region. Multan Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan confirmed that the head traffic Muhammad Wala had already been suspended. He warned that the authorities may be forced to violate their heads for security if the pressure continues to rise.

The main wave of flooding of Chenab currently passing by Triad Trimmu should reach Multan by this evening, while the water levels with Sidhnai head increases quickly, constituting a threat to Pir Mahal and Khanewal.

Currently, the Muhammadwala head water gauge is 408 feet, with the critical brand at 417 feet. The officials said that the technical committee would decide to violate Chief Muhammadwala according to the speed and intensity of the flood wave, among other factors.

The authorities urged residents to comply with the restrictions, stressing that closings were necessary to protect lives in the worsening of the flood urgency.
