The Americans stole the show Wednesday in the women’s freestyle moguls event at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Elizabeth Lemley, in her Olympic debut, won the gold medal with a score of 82.30. Her teammate, Jaelin Kauf, finished just behind her and took silver with a score of 80.77.

Lemley improved his score in the first final round. She scored 79.02 before catapulting to the top of the podium in the final final round. Kauf finished second in the first final heat and won the silver medal in the second final heat.
Lemley, a 20-year-old from Colorado, won gold in the parallel moguls and team moguls events at the 2024 Youth Olympics. She was unable to compete in the 2024-25 Freestyle Skiing World Cup due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Now she can call herself an Olympic champion.

Kauf won his second Olympic medal. She won a silver medal in women’s moguls at the 2022 Beijing Games. She previously won a gold medal in parallel moguls at the 2025 World Championships.
Frenchwoman Perrine Laffont won bronze on Wednesday with a score of 78.00. Australia’s Jakara Anthony finished first in the first final, but a mistake in the second dropped her to eighth place.
At that point in the day, the Americans had won three medals.
