At a press conference on Monday, the opposition chief of the National Assembly Omar Ayub criticized the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and his leadership, in particular the President Asif Ali Zardari and President Bilawal Bhutto.
He accused them of having beat corruption files in the Sindh and said that Zardari and Bilawal sold Sindh water.
Ayub expressed his disapproval of the current government, led by the PPP and denounced President Zardari, declaring: “Zardari calls himself the president, but we do not recognize this installed government. Zardari has said nothing today.”
He continued: “The PPP broke corruption records in the Sindh. Whether it is Asif Zardari or Bilawal Bhutto, both sell the water in the province. The government was involved in the support of the controversial PECA (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) with form 47. There is a gang of notorious criminals in Punjab, with Dr. Usman at the helm. The current government has failed economically. “”
Ayub has also criticized the treatment of the government of the economy, declaring that corruption had reached unprecedented levels.
He also pointed out: “They celebrate a reduction in inflation, but come, walk with us and see if inflation has really lowered or increased. In the past two years, the special investment facilitation advice has not obtained any results and our questions remain unanswered. The IT sector has been decimated and there is no foreign investment.”
The head of the opposition has also raised concerns about security in Balutchistan, declaring: “There is no security arrangement in various Balutchistan districts. Due to negligence, our soldiers sacrifice their lives. The founding chief of PTI has always said that the army belongs to us, but today, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are involved in false cases. “”
He continued to highlight the current state of the nation, saying: “Our leaders and workers are political prisoners. Twenty million young people left the country and 27 billion dollars were sent abroad. “”
The president of the PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also discussed the speech of President Zardari, declaring: “Today, we saw the legacy of Zardari behind the image of Benazir Bhutto. In his speech, Zardari has not proven that there is a democracy in the country. Zardari has not succeeded by the opposition chambers and is still a controversial president.”
He added: “Our demonstration, as we have seen today, will continue. Decisions are made outside the Parliament, and the Chamber is not a priority. We have already declared that the Assembly is incomplete, and this should be recognized.”
Also speaking at the press conference, the head of the opposition in the Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz, condemned the adoption of laws in the Senate, declaring that they were lacking in both moral and legal legitimacy. “The Senate is not even representative of all the provinces,” he said, adding, “how can elections take place and bills without being adopted without the representation of a province?”
Opposition leaders continued to express their dissatisfaction with the government’s approach to governance and the political situation continues in Pakistan. They underlined the need for a more responsible and transparent system, as well as a fair representation and economic reforms to meet the growing challenges of the country.
