One death, 24 injured in the Lodhran train accident

Lahore:

A passenger was killed and 24 others injured when Awami Express met an accident at Lodhran Junction due to a brake failure.

The train was heading for Karachi from Peshawar; However, when he reached Lodhran Junction between the night of Saturday and Sunday, the train of the train derailed and five coaches overturned.

The deceased was identified as the son of Waqas of Allah Ditta de Khushab. Among the injured are women, children and young people.

The injured were transferred to New District hospital. District administration, rescue resources, police and others have engaged in rescue activities.

The deputy commissioner, Dr. Lubni Nazir, visited the district hospital and gave instructions to immediately provide the best medical facilities to patients. District administrations have also set up a rescue camp near the station.

The Minister of Railways Hanif Abbasi also ordered an investigation into the incident and expressed his sorrow about the death of the deceased passenger. He said that anyone found guilty of negligence would be taken in the task.

The DS railways said that the accident had won the lifespan of a passenger and made 24 other injured. He said the passengers had been hosted in Rehman Baba Train to place them on their destinations.
