Only 646 out of 4,000 clear teaching license tests

Sindh -chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that he respected his teachers as much as he respects his parents because they had shaped his future and allowed him to compete effectively in his field and stressed that teachers had to win this type of respect by providing an appropriate education to their students.

He said, while speaking during the teaching license award ceremony to candidates selected organized by the Sindh education service here at CM House on Tuesday.

The ceremony brought together the Minister of Education Syed Sardar Shah, Minister of Breeding Mohammad Ali Malkan, Secretary (School Education) Zahid Abbasi, diplomats, deputies, educators, Shahzad Raoi de Zindagi Trust and members of civil society.

The chief minister urged all citizens to honor their teachers and to satisfy their thirst for knowledge by the reverence for these educators, stressing that such respect must be won by providing quality education to students.

Shah recalled that three years ago, the idea of issuing teaching licenses was proposed by Sardar Shah.

He mentioned: “It has been said that licenses should be granted to those who shape our future”, describing this initiative as a vital stage towards the insurance of skills and responsibility within the teaching profession.

During the ceremony, the chief minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah granted teaching licenses to 646 candidates selected, including 297 jokes and 195 pre-service licenses.

He pointed out that only 646 of the 4,000 candidates have successfully completed the test, which reflects a low success rate of around 16%. He pointed out: “We have a lot of work to do to improve education standards.”

Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to present highly qualified educators through the Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA).

In addition, he expressed his concerns concerning millions of children who did not come out and underlined the need to assess the quality of education provided to those registered.

He asked: “How can we prepare children to live a good life in a competitive world?” By approaching the long -term drop in the quality of education, Murad Shah stressed: “The education system has gradually deteriorated in the last 40 or 50 years.”

He recalled an era when primary schools provided an excellent education and noted the disparity in teachers’ meetings according to merit.

The Sindh Minister of Education, Sardar Shah, addressing the teaching license ceremony]said that today marks a joyful day for him, because a dream envisaged three years ago has become a reality.

“Change is welcomed, but it is essential that it is effective,” said the minister. The Minister stressed that the implementation of teaching permits would provide significant improvements to the education system.

Referring to false ideas, he noted that some people thought that the licenses applied to weapons permits for teachers.

“At the start, we recruited teachers without license because school management was our priority,” he said.

In the future, all newly recruited teachers will have training before receiving licenses. Only approved teachers will be appointed in future recruitments, he confirmed.

“Teaching must be considered not only as a job but as a service and a responsibility,” said Minister Sardar Shah.

Those who spoke occasionally were Secretary Education Zahid Abbasi, Dr. Sajid Ali of Aga Khan University, Shahzad Raoi, the executive director of Steda, Rasool Bux Shah.
