The director general of inter-service public relations (ISPR), the LT General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said that only the State had the power to declare jihad and that no individual or group can claim this right, the media wing reported on Sunday.
According to a press release published by the ISPR, Lieutenant-General Chaudhry held a special meeting in Karachi with representatives of various religious and social communities, engaging discussions focused on national unity and harmony.
He stressed that ethnic or linguistic hatred is a form of ignorance. “All the citizens of Pakistan, whatever their faith, are equal under the Constitution and enjoy all rights. National unity is only supported by equality and harmony, if we remain united, no force can overcome us,” he said.
Addressing the country’s security challenges, “he said:” India supports terrorism within Pakistan. The Pakistani army responds with a modern war strategy and complete preparation. ”
The participants warmly welcomed the army spokesperson, expressed strong solidarity with the Pakistani army and appreciated the initiative of the CEO ISPR, describing dialogue as precious. They also expressed the desire for such inter-trial and inter-community discussions to continue regularly, concluded the declaration.
