US tennis star Danielle Collins defended her explosion to a cameraman on Tuesday during a tournament last week.
The Collins incident occurred at the Strasbourg international against Emma Raducanu. During a change, she told the cameraman to keep their distance when she filled her bottle with water. She said that the cameraman acted “very inappropriate”.

She talked about it for a long time after the victory over Jodie Anna Burrage in the first round of the French Open.
“I think what happened in Strasbourg is that I ask for a personal space at my workplace. I don’t know why it is even a subject of discussion,” she said, via the tennis letter. “It should be something that we can have during, like our work. The fact that I had to ask for so many different times in my career and during different games to have an adequate level of personal space is a bit strange.
“I think that often, it seems that my answer is treated like the offensive itself. I learn that as a woman, asking a personal space seems to be a problem for many people. Collins said that in the video that had become viral on social networks, “so many people did not see”. She said fans “do not see the person going to stand above Emma to have a good photo of me in a space of about 2-3 feet.”
