OPENAI claims that more than 90,000 users of more than 3,500 federal, state and local government agencies have sent more than 18 million messages to the GPT cat since 2024 as part of their daily work in the training of AI tools, Basic coding, translation services, and much more.
Visually, the service is similar to Chatgpt Enterprise, the main difference being that Chatgpt Gov can be hosted on the internal commercial cloud Microsoft Azure, or the infrastructure of the Azure community cloud.
As always, there are legitimate concerns concerning the security of the use of AI within the government, in particular when entering sensitive information, to which OPENAI refers to users to its user policy, to which Chatgpt Gov is also subject.
The demonstrations made to the press by the engineer of OPENAI solutions, Aaron Wilkowitz, showed that Chatgpt Gov was creating a five -week plan for a Trump administration employee, who was then analyzed by the GPT after the Addition of many notes. Wilkowitz has also demonstrated his translation capacities by making him write a work plan note, then by translating it into several languages.
Chatgpt Enterprise is currently subject to federal tests of the risk management program and authorization (Fedramp) before it can be used on the sensitive data types it could be fed if it is adopted. OPENAI CPO Kevin Weil said (via CNBC) That although there was no calendar in place for the approval of Fedramp de Chatgpt Endramp, OpenAi works with the new administration to cut part of the administrative formalities.
“I know that President Trump also examines how we can potentially rationalize this, because it is a way of obtaining more modern software tools in the government and helping the government to head more effectively. We are therefore very excited about it, “said Weil.
The CEO of Openai, Sam Altman, would have donated $ 1 million to the inauguration fund of President Trump, alongside the partner company of Openai, Microsoft, which provides many systems, software and cloud services that government must operate.
