OPENAI announced Thursday that it had launched an overview of its latest IA model, GPT-4.5, for professional users and developers around the world, with wider access to deploy in the coming weeks.
The GPT-4.5 is delivered with a better ability to recognize models, to generate creative information without reasoning and shows greater emotional intelligence, said society.
OPENAI on the back of Microsoft said that it would start to deploy GPT-4.5 to Chatgpt Plus and to team users next week, then to business and EDU users the following week.
The CEO, Sam Altman, described it as a “giant and expensive model”, saying that the company had lacked GPU capacity to deploy user levels at the same time.
“We will add tens of thousands of GPUs next week … This is not how we want to work, but it is difficult to perfectly predict growth overvoltages that lead to GPU shortages,” he said in an article on X.
OPENAI said that the model also has a lower rate of “hallucinations”, a common problem in which large language models generate false information. At 37.1%, the hallucination rate of GPT-4.5 compared to the 61.8% shown by GPT-4O and 44% shown by its O1 reasoning model.
GPT-4.5 supports file and images downloads and can also work on writing and coding projects, but does not currently support other advanced features such as voice and video.
