Now that the PIA has resumed its flights to the European Union (EU), the management of the national flag carrier short of cash has great hopes that the authorities of the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) also grant it the permission of Resume its flight operation to the United Kingdom after a spear of more than four years.
Sources have revealed that the British Security Committee is expected to examine the request for the resumption of PIA flights at its meeting scheduled for March 12.
The British Civil Aviation Authority team and the Department for Transport (DFT) will present the recent audit report of the PIA and the civil aviation authority Pakistan at the meeting. If it is approved by the British security committee, direct pia flights to the United Kingdom will also be restored.
PIA management is confident as to the resumption of flights to the United Kingdom.
The airline has already prepared a plan to immediately start operations in London, Manchester and Birmingham as soon as approval is granted. A team from the PIA of two members has recently returned to Pakistan after evaluating preparations for flight operations in the United Kingdom, sources added.
The EU and the United Kingdom aviation authorities imposed a temporary PIA ban in June 2020 after the Minister of Aviation during the PTI regime revealed in Parliament that a certain number of pilots in Pakistan had false licenses.
The PIA flight operation to the EU resumed on January 11.
