- The Oracle Defense ecosystem gives SMEs access to potential DOD contracts
- The program includes access to desktop spaces, software and support
- Its scope could extend beyond American DOD contracts
Oracle has launched a new program aimed at helping technology suppliers, especially small businesses, for sale in the United States Department of Defense (DOD).
The launch of the Oracle Defense ecosystem program occurs in the middle of a major restructuring of the supply of American government technology, many hyperscalers losing contracts while the Trump administration seeks to centralize purchases and reduce spending.
Although companies that have traditionally sold in the government have been considered to be offering huge discounts to maintain their government contracts, the time has also come for small businesses to have a chance to earn offers.
Oracle and US Dod
As part of the program, small suppliers will have access to Oracle Office spaces, reductions on Cloud / AI tools in Palant and Oracle Netsuite software, and advice on navigation on Pentagon supply processes.
The company says that the program has been designed to overcome the structural challenges that small suppliers are often faced with large defense entrepreneurs, effectively leveling the rules of the game.
Initially, 10 companies, including Blackshar.ai, Sensusq, Metron and Arqit, participate, but registration is free (supported by Oracle Funding).
The advantages extend far beyond the increase in small technological companies, however, the DOD also having access to more advanced technologies and a wider range of offers, and to Oracle Cloud, making a more deep path in defense operations – a versatile victory.
The emphasis on Doge on efficiency could also benefit Oracle by putting an end to inherited contracts – although the company rushes far behind AWS and Azure in terms of market share, it sees opportunities in AI and defense spaces.
Speaking on the new program, Oracle VP Rand Waldron said: “Nothing is more important than the national security of the United States and its allies, and Oracle has been the cornerstone of this mission for almost 50 years.”
The announcement of the company also shows a clear intention to redefine national security innovation, not only supporting the United States but also its allied countries, in digital and physical defense.
