- The 1More Ear Clip S12 are open clip-style headphones
- 10mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 5.4 and 28 hours of battery life
- Just $39.99 (around £30 / AU$62) and available now
1More makes some of our favorite budget headphones, such as the five-star and eminently affordable 1More Triple Driver In-Ear Headphones, and more recently the 1More SonoFlow Pro HQ51 On-Ear Headphones, which we consider to be the best noise-cancelling headphones under $100/£100.
What they lack in the exciting name category, they more than make up for in “lush” sound quality and good build quality for the price. So the news of a very An aggressively priced pair of open-back clip-on headphones is intriguing.
The 1More Ear Clip S12 features 10mm dynamic drivers and comes at a ridiculously low price: just $39.99 in the US – and they’re on sale now. Looking at Amazon US just now, there is a coupon offer that drops the price by another 20%. That makes them less than half the price of the model we recommend as our favorite budget option among the best open-back headphones right now.
The press release is for the US only and so far the only UK listing I’ve been able to find is on a site I’ve never come across before. 1More generally sells through Amazon UK where it has a dedicated store page and from its own website; the S12 isn’t there currently either. I would expect them to appear on both very soon.
1MORE Ear Clip S12: Why it could be a great budget buy
While 1More’s earbuds have always been impressive to us, we’ve been less enamored with its clip-on earbuds so far: In our testing, the 1More Fit Open Earbuds were promising, but let down by an unstable fit that we found made them unsuitable for people who wear glasses and those who want to wear them during strenuous exercise.
These new clips look much better, with a completely different fit design, closer to the JBL Soundgear clips or Bose Ultra Open headphones. We tested these latest headphones and found that their design helped them stay in place no matter what we did. So we hope that 1More has managed to do the same with its clips.
I hope so, because the specs here are impressive for the price: 28 hours of battery life via the charging case, IPX5 water resistance, Bluetooth 5.4, a low-latency mode, and large 10mm dynamic drivers. They’re also lightweight, weighing just 5g per earbud. If they sorted out the fit, these could be some of the most economical clips on the market.
