The president of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, was a negotiation committee of eight members to resolve the issue of references filed against the suspended members of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), reported Express News.
The development follows a first advisory meeting between President Khan and 26 AMP suspended of PTI on the disqualification references filed against them.
The committee includes Whip Rana Rana Arshad, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Mujtaba Shuja Ur Rehman, Khawaja Salman Rafic, Samiullah Khan and Ahmad Iqbal.
An additional representation comes from allied parties with Ali Haider Gillani of the Pakistani peoples (PPP) party, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain of the Pakistani Muslim League (Q) and Shoaib Siddiqui of the Istehkam-E-Pakistan (PPI) body.
Sources have also revealed that the opposition should submit its speaker candidates today. The opposition delegation may include the opposition chief Ahmad Khan Bhachar, the parliamentary chief Ali Imtiaz Waraich, the president of Pti Lahore Sheikh Imtiaz, Ejaz Shafi and other higher members.
The second cycle of talks between the government and the opposition committees is scheduled for Sunday at 4.30 p.m. in the Punjab assembly. The two parties should finalize their recommendations for the negotiation framework by the end of the day.

The main representatives of the cash and opposition benches should establish reference conditions (twists) in the coming days, aimed at regulating the future procedures of the Punjab assembly and to discourage humiliation, abusive exchanges and violent conduct between legislators.

The two parties would have agreed to form a joint committee of higher members to make the consultation process more effective and explore constitutional, legal and parliamentary solutions to the dead end.
It should be mentioned that President Khan had received disqualification references against these AMPs currently suspended under article 63, paragraph 2, read with article 113 of the Constitution. It is its constitutional obligation to decide these references within 30 days, as stipulated in said provisions.
