PAA denies Islamabad airport to close for eight days

Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) denied media reports on Sunday saying that Islamabad International Airport will be closed for eight days, calling them “incorrect and misleading”.

The PAA said that flight operations will only be suspended for two -hour intervals over specific days to facilitate rehearsals for independence day celebrations on August 14, pointing out PTV Quoting a declaration from the PAA.

According to an opinion on the airmen (NOTAM) issued by the PAA, temporary flight restrictions will apply during the following periods:

All other operations will normally continue. Passengers were advised to contact their airlines for updated schedules to avoid the drawbacks.

The PAA said that temporary closures were part of safety and logistical preparations for the official Flypast of the independence day.

Meanwhile, as the 78th day of Pakistan’s independence, a wave of green and white sweeps away, releases patriotic fervor, emotional pride and historical memory.

The national flag flows to the top of houses, private and official buildings before independence day, and the bazaars and streets are lit by green and white lights to celebrate.
