Pak expects a breakthrough in American tariff discussions

WASHINGTON:

A delegation led by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a productive meeting with the US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lunick and the United States representative, Ambassador Jamieson Greer in Washington DC OM.

The two parties expressed their satisfaction with the progress in improving commercial and economic links, a cornerstone of Pakistani bilateral relations. They reaffirmed their commitment to explore the opportunities to strengthen these links in all possible areas of mutual benefits.

Aurangzeb stressed that the United States remains the largest trading partner in Pakistan and has underlined Pakistan’s interest to expand cooperation in traditional and non-traditional sectors, including IT and technological sector, minerals and agriculture, to promote a mutually beneficial relationship.

The two parties expressed optimism as to the fact that the current trade negotiations give positive results, benefiting the savings of the two countries.
