Karachi:
Pakistani pilgrims from Karachi and Islamabad for Hajj this year will once again benefit from the “Road to Makkah” initiative, which rationalizes immigration procedures before departure.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a letter to the Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), asking the officials to provide all the necessary provisions for Hajj operations at Jinnah International Airport at Karachi and Islamabad International Airport.
According to a letter from the Royal Saudi Embassy to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, immigration services will be provided again at Karachi and Islamabad airports under the Makkah road. Pilgrims traveling from these cities will end their immigration procedures in Pakistan rather than their arrival in Saudi Arabia.
The CAA has been responsible for ensuring appropriate arrangements for the initiative, in particular the space allowed for Saudi immigration staff and the supply of all the necessary installations. Consequently, pilgrims traveling from Islamabad and Karachi will not need to go through immigration during landing at Jeddah or Madinah airports, because their treatment will already be completed in Pakistan.
The Road to Makkah project aims to facilitate a smoother and more practical journey for Pakistani pilgrims, the reduction in waiting times and the guarantee of effective immigration procedures before departure.
