Throw Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat against West Indies
Pakistan opted to bat first after winning the toss in Multan. The start was delayed by four hours due to thick fog shrouding the Multan stadium; the match was supposed to start at half past nine in the morning, but the start was not possible until 1:30 p.m.
“We need to think about the conditions at home and think about how we will become difficult to beat at home,” said Shan Masood, referring to the behavior of the surface. “And looking at different oppositions, we would like to have a variety of pitches ready to go, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.”
The series is the last in this World Test Championship cycle for both teams.
