Pakistan adopts a new response to India

Islamabad:

Pakistan has established a “new standard” of a “response from the Quid-Pro-Quo-Plus” if India insists on its dangerous concept of a limited war on the nuclear threshold, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, said on Monday, urging New Delhi to rethink its human and erroneous policies.

Speaking during an event to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) here, DAR stressed that Pakistan as “average power” and key member of the “world South”, contributed to the causes of world peace, security and sustainable development.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the approach to Pakistan’s foreign policy was aimed at accentuating the country’s pivot to PK Press Club-economy and has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining international peace and security.

“One of the fundamental principles guiding this approach to foreign policy is the accentuation of Pakistan’s pivot towards PK Press Club-economy,” said Dar. “The other basic principle is our permanent commitment to international law, the Charter of the United Nations and not centered multilateralism,” he added.

He underlined the need to promote economic diplomacy as a key pillar of the country’s global commitment. He stressed that improving trade, promoting foreign investment, the attraction of funding and technology and the forging development partnerships were among the highest priorities.

“In this way, foreign policy has become the most important instrument to protect and promote the economic interests of Pakistan and contribute considerably to the national development process,” the Deputy Prime Minister told the event.

Regarding recent turbulence and global transformations, DAR said that Pakistan, both as an average and key member of the world South, contributed significantly to “worthy causes of peace and security” as well as sustainable development.

Referring to the allegations of India following the attack on Pahalgam and the doctrine of the “ normal normal ” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of military use with Pakistan, Dar said that Pakistan quickly retaliated in May.
