Pakistan asks Taliban to act against TTP, black

Islamabad:

Pakistan, Afghanistan and China undertook on Wednesday to strengthen joint efforts against terrorism while the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, urged the Taliban regime to take decisive and verifiable measures against the Liberation Army of Tehreek-E-Taliban (TTP) and Balochistan (Bla).

The Foreign Ministers of China and Pakistan went to Kabul to attend the Trilateral Reunion. It was Wang Yi’s first visit to Kabul since the Taliban made control of Afghanistan.

On the sidelines of the trilateral meeting, Dar and Wang had separate bilateral talks with the Afghan authorities. The Chinese Foreign Minister told the Acting Prime Minister of Afghan, Mullah Akhund, that he hoped that the Taliban government “would pay particular attention” to the security problems of Beijing.

During the meeting with the Minister of Affairs of the Afghanes, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dar raised the question of the presence of TTP, Bla and Majeed Brigade on Afghan soil.

He underlined a recent increase in terrorist attacks within Pakistan perpetrated by groups operating from Afghan soil, urging the Afghan authorities to take concrete and verifiable measures against entities such as TTP and BLA / MAIR BRIGADE. “The acting Afghan Minister for Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to ensure that his territory is not used by any terrorist group against Pakistan or other nations,” said the press release.

DAR’s statement said Pakistan’s frustration concerning the lack of cooperation of the Taliban authorities to resolve the security problem.

While the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his concerns about the security problem, the two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between their country. They praised the recent elevation of diplomatic representation between the two countries, accusation affairs at the ambassador, as agreed at the Trilateral meeting in Beijing on May 21, 2025.

Afghan Foreign Affairs Minister Muttaqi, in his remarks, said that the region has great cooperation opportunities in various fields. He expressed his confidence that if the three countries focus on mutual trust and practical measures, these opportunities can be fully achieved. According to him, the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan has made the economy the central pillar of its foreign policy, with in progress efforts to transform Afghanistan of a country considered only by the prism of security challenges into a hub of regional economic activity.

He added that Afghanistan, China and Pakistan collectively have immense economic potential. Wang has also expressed hope that Afghanistan will continue on the path of stability and that regional economic corridors will open greater opportunities for joint development.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs DAR also stressed the importance of the meeting. He said that trilateral talks between Afghanistan, China and Pakistan are not only essential to consolidate existing relations, but also serve as a milestone to open the way for future progress. DAR expressed its optimism that economic and commercial cooperation between the three countries will deepen more, opening up new doors of prosperity for the people of the region.

Reunion participants have agreed that the three countries must improve mutual connectivity in order to translate regional cooperation into tangible results. They also promised joint efforts to eliminate obstacles in the fields of trade and transit so that the region can move to sustainable development and stability.

This trilateral meeting occurs at a time when Afghanistan strives to stabilize its economy and redefine its relations with the regional countries. China and Pakistan, being the main neighbors of Afghanistan, provide additional weight and meaning to this process.
