Bangladesh Air Chief meets Navy Chief CDF Munir; discusses defense cooperation and regional security

Pakistan and Bangladesh on Thursday reaffirmed the importance of strengthening professional collaboration and defense ties between their armed forces during a meeting between Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Bangladesh Air Force Chief Field Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, the Army’s media wing said.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Bangladesh Air Chief visited Field Marshal Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
“During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics and avenues for strengthening bilateral defense and military cooperation were discussed,” the ISPR said, adding that both sides “emphasized the importance of strengthening professional collaboration, training exchanges and defense ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Bangladesh.”

The visiting dignitary lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and appreciated their contributions to regional peace and stability. In response, COAS Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering sustainable defense relations with Bangladesh.
“The meeting concluded reflecting the strong and long-standing ties between the two brotherly countries,” the ISPR added.
Separately, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan also called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters Islamabad. On arrival, the visiting dignitary was received by the Navy Chief.
According to the ISPR, the discussions focused on “issues of mutual professional interest, the evolving regional security paradigm and avenues for further strengthening bilateral defense cooperation”.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted Pakistan Navy’s commitment to regional maritime peace and stability through its various initiatives. The Bangladeshi air chief acknowledged the high professional standards of the Pakistan Navy and expressed his desire to strengthen collaboration between the armed forces of the two brotherly nations.
“The dignitaries agreed on the importance of increasing the frequency of high-level exchanges and joint training exercises to foster greater synergy,” the statement said.
The ISPR said the Bangladesh Air Force chief’s visit highlighted the deepening defense ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, following Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s visit to Dhaka in late 2025.
