Pakistan closes airspace amid Indian exercises

KARACHI:

Pakistan closed its airspace adjacent to India for two days – October 28 and 29 – from 6 am to 9 am, according to a notice to airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) on Monday.

The restriction applies to several routes in the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions bordering Indian airspace. The PCAA has informed all airlines and aircraft operators, advising them to exercise caution during the restriction period.

Sources said the decision was taken in light of Indian military exercises that would be conducted near the Pakistan border.
