Pakistan strongly condemned “an unjustified and illegitimate assault” by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement pronounced during a briefing of the United Nations Security Council on regional security.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, said on Saturday that Israeli military strikes on Iranian territory had violated international law and constituted a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
“Pakistan is in solidarity resolute with the fraternal people of Iran,” he said. “We offer our sympathies and condolences on loss of lives and the damage caused by these odious attacks.”
Calling the strikes of a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, Ambassador Ahmad said that they had overview of the Charter of the United Nations and the fundamental principles of international law.
“We unequivocally denounce these blatant provocations, which constitute a serious danger and a serious threat to the peace, security and stability of the whole region and beyond,” he said.
He also underlined the inherent law of Iran to self -defense under article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.

On Friday, at least three people were killed and 91 injured in the Iranian reprisal missile missiles on Israel, the Anadolu agency reported.
The retaliation strikes followed the Israeli attack on Iran which targeted military and nuclear sites through Iran, killing Iranian generals and nuclear scientists. The Iranian revolutionary goalkeeper confirmed that he had launched ballistic missiles with several targets within Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Iranian officials said 78 people, including high -level generals and nuclear scientists, had been killed and more than 320 injured in Israeli strikes that started before dawn and targeted Tehran, Natanz, Isfahan and Shiraz.
The Corps of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC) confirmed the death of the general of good general Mohammad Baqeri and General Hossein Salami, among others.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel had struck “the heart of the Iranian nuclear program”, confirming attacks on more than 200 targets. The International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran has reported significant damage to an air structure in its Uranium Natanz enrichment plant.
Iran responded with two waves of missile and drone attacks, striking areas in and around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israeli officials said most of the missiles were intercepted, but that there was a “limited number” of direct blows causing structural damage.
The US military helped intercept Iranian missiles, but said it was not involved in Israel’s offensive. Iran’s UN envoy accused Washington of complicity and warned against the consequences.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has appointed new best commanders and has promised reprisals. “The Zionist regime sealed his bitter destiny,” he said in a statement.
