Two Bogies of the Express Pakistan Express of Karachi-to-Rawalpindi, derailed in the district of Bahwalpur, in Punjab, on Saturday morning, causing the temporary closure of the railways from top to bottom, confirmed rail sources, Express News reported.

The derailment occurred at 6:05 am when the Standard AC Bogie – the fourth of the rear – is completely out of the track near the Mubarakpur station.

The tied dining car was also affected in the incident. No injury or death has been reported.

A rescue train was quickly dispatched from Sama Satta, and rescue efforts are in full swing to erase track and recovery services.

Railway managers and emergency teams are on site, the authorities prioritizing passenger safety and the fast food of operations.

In addition, the CEO of Pakistani railways requested complete details on railway bridges across the country after the recent collapse of the Khanewal station bridge.

In a statement sent to all divisional superintendents, Pakistan Railways Administration ordered them to provide complete information on bridges within their respective divisions.

The data will be used to initiate an upgrade program on a national scale.

Special eid trains to facilitate the vacation rush

On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Railways decided to lead five special trains during Eidul Azha.

The federal minister of railways Hanif Abbasi approved the calendar of these special trains, which take place in major cities.

According to a spokesperson for public relations, the first special train from Eid will leave from Karachi for Lahore on June 2 at 1:00 p.m.

The second train will operate from Quetta to Peshawar on June 3 at 10:00 am. The same day, a third special train will leave from Lahore for Karachi at 5:00 p.m.

Later in the evening, a fourth train will leave from Karachi for Rawalpindi at 8:00 p.m., while the fifth and last special train from Eid will leave from Karachi Cantt on June 4 at 5.30 p.m.
