Pakistan honors managers, commanders for roles in Marka-E-Haq

President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the best civil and military prices on Thursday to national leaders, military commanders and officials in recognition of their services during Marka-E-Haq, where Pakistan inflicted a humiliating defeat on India.

During a ceremony held in Aiwan-E-Sadr, the marshal of the army chief (COAS), Marshal Syed Asim Munnir, received the Hilal-E-Jurat for having directed the Pakistani army by the front and formulating the war strategy, while the aerial marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu received the Hilal-E-Imtiaz.

The chairman of the chief staff committee, Sahir Shamshad Mirza, admiral chief of the Admiral de la Marine de la Marine, was conferred on the Nishan-E-Imtiaz, and DG ISI LT Gen Asim Malik received the Sitara-E-Basalat.

The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan, the general of division Kashif Abdullah, the vice-marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, and the counter-admiral Shahzad Hamid received the Tamgha-E-Basalat.

Among the political leaders, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar, leader of the parliamentary diplomatic committee, president of the Pakistani peoples (PPP) party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Minister of Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, the Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif, and the adviser of Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah were presented at Nishan-I-Imtiaz.

Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi, ministers and parliamentarians Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Faisal Sabzwari, Musadik Malik and Hina Rabbani Khar, as well as Tariq Fatemi and Khurram Dastgir Khan, were also decorated with higher civil rewards.

The Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, received the Nishan-E-Imtiaz to effectively project the national account of Pakistan on an international scale during the recent Pakistani-Indian tensions, thwart Indian propaganda and ensure a coordinated civil-military information strategy.
