The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that torture, in all its forms, is incompatible with the fundamental values of justice, mercy and compassion anchored in Islam. These principles, he added, are the foundation of the country’s position on human rights.
“Islam confirms the sacred character and dignity of each human being,” said the declaration. “Any act of torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment is incompatible with the values of justice and compassion at the heart of Islamic lessons.”

According to the press release, Pakistan’s commitment to fight torture is reflected in its current legal reforms and the strengthening of institutional guarantees.
The government actively improves surveillance mechanisms and legal frameworks to ensure responsibility and protect individuals from inhuman practices. In addition, efforts are made to provide torture victims with essential medical, legal, legal and psychological support.
