The Pakistani army welcomed the 8th edition of the International Spirit (PATS) competition of the team of the Pakistani army (PATS) army team in Kharian Garrison, drawing the participation of local and international military teams.
The military exercise of 60 hours of long time has focused on the patrol on a semi-mountain field and was designed to improve combat skills, adaptability and teamwork thanks to a shared exchange of tactics and innovative techniques.
Seven teams from the Pakistani army, a team from the Pakistani navy, and 15 teams from friendly countries participated in the competition.
The exercise has become a prestigious platform for military engagement to military and professional development.
The chief of staff of the army, General Syed Asim Munnir, attended the closing ceremony as a chief guest. He praised the participants for their exceptional professionalism, resilience and commitment shown throughout the exercise.
“The Pakistani army is proud of its values of character, courage and competence. These features have been constantly demonstrated in our fight against terrorism,” said General Munnir.
Keeping in the accident hills of Punjab, the competition underlined the continuous efforts of Pakistan to promote regional military cooperation and improve operational preparation under realistic conditions.
Earlier, the COs said Thursday that the peace and freedom enjoyed in Pakistan today are the result of the sacrifices made by the country’s armed forces.
The army chief made these remarks during an inauguration ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a press release published by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the ceremony, General Asim Munnir conferred military honors, including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (soldier) and Tamgha-I-Basalat, on officers and soldiers of the Pakistani army.
