Pakistan joins forces with the world’s world junior after Poland’s victory

Cairo: Abdullah Nawaz and Anas Ali Shah guided Pakistan in the quarter-finals of the World Junior Squash Mend Junior Championship event with a 2-0 victory against Poland at the Black Ball Club on Tuesday.

Abdullah gave Pakistan the perfect start, winning a 3-1 victory over Jan Samborski in the opening rubber to advance his team.

The opening match remained uniformly ready for 1-1 after the first two sets before Abdullah put an astonishing return, outclassing Samborski 11-8 and 11-2 in the following sets.

Anas then represented Pakistan in the second match against Franciszek Michnieticz, who offered a notable fight but ended up losing it by 3-2.

The national player took a triumphant start for the match, winning the first set 11-7, only for Michnieticz to retaliate by winning the next two and moving one from the score of Poland.

Anas, however, showed steel nerves and organized a sensational return by winning the fourth set and forcing the game in the decision maker.

In the fifth and last set, Anas Bamboozt a bamboozé Michnieticz 11-3 to complete a dominant victory for Pakistan with a game to lose, which was to be played between Muhammad Umair Arif and Mateusz Ptaszek.

Pakistan will then face England in the quarter -final of the male team competition at the World Junior Squash Championship today.

For the Uneversed, Pakistan’s trip to the individual squash junior championship competition has already ended after the overwhelming 3-0 defeat of Abdullah Nawaz against Adam Hawal of Egypt in the round of 16.
