Fingerprint issues for online passport applicants resolved with new verification system
The Passport Department has launched a new online verification system which resolves technical issues previously affecting the fingerprint verification of passport applicants online.
Candidates will now be able to verify their fingerprints through NADRA’s Pak ID application. If the fingerprint verification fails, a facial verification option will also be available.
According to DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi, overseas Pakistanis were reporting frequent problems with online biometric verification. With this new facility, overseas Pakistanis and the elderly are expected to benefit the most.
DG Passports added that all possible modern facilities are being put in place for the convenience of citizens, saying this upgrade is part of a broader shift towards digitalization aimed at making passport services more accessible to the public.
