Pakistan Railways to probe “assault” after the protest

Pakistan Railways (PR) launched an investigation into the allegation of its additional director general (mechanical), Rahat Mirza, who said he was physically attacked by an officer of 19th year tariq latif on March 29.

According to a notification published Friday by the Director of PR staff, Secretary Railways ordered the Inspector General of the Public Relations Police to conduct the investigation and submit a report within three days.

In his complaint, Mirza – a 21 -year -old officer – was the subject of saying that Latif, an officer of the Traffic Group Commercial Railway (RCTG), threatened to kill him in the office of the former. He asked the Director General of Public Relations to provide him with security for the threat while taking strict measures against Latif.

According to a report, dozens of officers, including engineers in senior mechanics, have threatened the administration of public relations to stop the work in the coming days if a strict disciplinary measure has not been taken against Tariq Latif.

Despite a written complaint filed by Mirza, with a rapid action request, the Ministry of Railways, in a surprise decision Thursday, appointed Latif as Managing Director (vigilance), based at the siege of Lahore du RP, added the report.
