Pakistan reaffirms support for Chinese territorial integrity in Zangnan

Pakistan reiterated its support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of China, after the reaffirmation by Beijing of its position on Zangan, also known as Arunachal Pradesh.

On Friday, during a weekly press briefing, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, said that Pakistan “fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the People’s Republic of China” and noted recent reports concerning China’s position in the region.

The declaration comes in the middle of the renewed tensions between India and China on the disputed territory, which Beijing calls Zangan.

Khan also rejected the Indian media alleging nuclear radiation linked to recent border tensions as “baseless and baseless”.

He noted that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan and India had remained in contact since May 10, stressing the importance of continuous dialogue.

Commenting on broader regional developments, Khan criticized what he described as an “aggressive posture” from India, accusing New Delhi of destabilizing the regional security environment.

He said that Pakistan’s military operations, carried out under operation Bunyan-Un-Marsoos, were a response to cross-border and self-defense assault, invoking article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

“Our answer was in accordance with our right to self -defense and aimed to preserve national sovereignty,” said Khan.

He praised the recent ceasefire agreement between the two parties and urged India to maintain his commitments. “We consider it a positive step and expect India to implement the ceasefire in the letter and the mind,” he added.

Punjab provincial authorities have also marked what they called a significant achievement under Bunyan-Un-Marsoos operation with tributes and commemorative events.
