The Ministry of Information on Saturday rejected claims by the Afghan Taliban regime that it would seize a Pakistani military post and inflict damage, calling them false, fabricated and aimed at misleading the Afghan public.

He said the claims made by the Taliban’s “so-called Defense Ministry” were part of a propaganda pattern that had “always fallen flat on its face once the facts were verified”, adding that “there was no credible and verifiable evidence of such repeated frivolous claims made by the Taliban media”.
“The damage and losses suffered by the Afghan Taliban and their expansion Fitna Al Khawarij are regularly updated by the MOIB,” the statement said, adding that associated video and pictorial evidence, where applicable, has also been shared with the media rather than resorting to false claims and propaganda.
Fitna Al Khawarij is a term the state uses to refer to terrorists belonging to the banned group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The ministry added that great care was being taken to provide credible and timely information on ongoing targeted operations against terrorists and their supporting infrastructure in areas under Afghan Taliban rule.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also commented on the matter, saying: “These false claims have no basis. »
Tarar added that the damage and losses suffered by the Afghan Taliban and the TTP were regularly updated by the Ministry of Information with “irrefutable pictorial and video evidence.”

The prime minister’s foreign media spokesperson, Mosharraf Zaidi, said the Afghan Taliban “spend more time spinning fantasies than getting rid of the TTP, BLA and other terrorist organizations enjoying the hospitality of the Afghan Taliban regime.”

Propaganda will not induce Pakistan to end its counter-terrorism operations.
Only the end of terrorism…

He added that the propaganda would not prompt Pakistan to stop its counter-terrorism operations. “Only the end of terrorism, from Afghan soil to Pakistan, will do that.”
This was not the first such claim by the Afghan Taliban. A day earlier, they claimed to have successfully attacked “important installations” in Islamabad in a drone strike, a claim the Information Ministry’s fact-checking account dismissed as fake news and propaganda.

Pakistani armed forces intercepted some rudimentary drones allegedly launched by the Afghan Taliban on March 13, in what officials described as a failed attempt to harass civilian populations.
These developments come as Pakistan continues its “Operation Ghazab Lil Haq”, launched after renewed clashes along the Pakistan-Afghan border, when Afghan Taliban forces fired on several locations, prompting rapid military retaliation.
Islamabad said the February airstrikes that triggered the escalation targeted terrorists. Islamabad has accused Afghanistan of failing to act against terrorist groups carrying out attacks in Pakistan, something the Taliban government has rejected. Border fighting has affected several Afghan provinces.
The violence in recent days is the worst since October fighting that killed more than 70 people on both sides, with land borders between the neighbors largely closed since then.
