The Ministry of Information on Wednesday dismissed allegations circulating on social media regarding the removal of the barbed wire fence separating the border with Afghanistan, calling them “fabricated and devoid of facts.”

The statement follows a post on X by an account named, which quoted Afghan forces as saying that “operations to completely remove barbed wire along the Durand Line are ongoing and progressing rapidly.”

The post also included a video clip showing men attempting to cut barbed wire from a fence.

In its response to

โ€œThe complex dynamics of this border have already been explained several times by relevant security officials,โ€ the ministry said, sharing a relevant excerpt from the military spokesperson’s press conference held on November 29.

The ministry further said that all video clips released by Taliban-affiliated media outlets were โ€œcreated content,โ€ often filmed briefly before individuals retreated, while describing the tactic as part of โ€œTaliban propagandaโ€ aimed at deceiving the public.

โ€œSuch content creation not only confirms the cowardly nature of these Kharjis and Taliban, but also reveals how they live in an imaginary world of propaganda and deception,โ€ the statement said.

He reaffirmed that the Pak-Afghan border fence remained fully intact and that all attempts to damage it were met with violent and disproportionate reactions on the spot.

The ministry said the Taliban’s recent claims were a reaction to the destruction of more than 250 border posts and the capture of dozens of posts by Pakistani law enforcement agencies as part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.

Highlighting the Taliban’s history of making baseless allegations, the ministry recalled previous false claims ranging from the capture of a Pakistani tank to purported successful drone strikes, and even the capture of a Pakistani pilot.

โ€œThese frivolous claims reveal the absolute lack of credibility of the Afghan Taliban regime and its Indian masters,โ€ the statement added, while concluding with a warning that โ€œno claims made by the Afghan Taliban or their media can be trusted.โ€
