Pakistan has firmly rejected the recent remarks of the India Ministry of External Affairs concerning Jammu-et-Cachemire, calling for New Delhi’s claims “zero and not avenue” under international law, Radio Pakistan reported.

On Friday, during his weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, criticized the position of India, declaring that the designation of Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), occupied the Indian illegal occupation, has no legal value.

He reaffirmed that Jammu-et-Cachemire remains a “disputed territory” recognized by the United Nations, and his final status must be determined “in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmir people”.

Answering a question, Khan said Pakistan had noted the remarks made by the Indian Minister of External Affairs, who had equalized accusations against Pakistan.

He described the minister’s comments as part of a persistent model, declaring: “It is lamentable that Indian management at different levels continues to invoke Pakistan in their personal speech, revealing an incredible obsession.”

Khan also noted the irony of the Minister’s statement that he did not wish to spend “precious time in Pakistan”, calling “particularly ironic”.

Rejecting what he called India’s “diatriber” on terrorism, the spokesman said: “India’s false story of being a victim cannot divert international attention from his dismal human rights file and his own involvement in terrorism.”

He urged India to stop making “baseless claims” and rather concentrating on the end of what Pakistan considers a forced occupation of 77 years of Jammu-et-Cachemire.
