The Myanmar ambassador expressed his gratitude to the government and the people of Pakistan for their aid and praised the efforts made by Pakistan for help efforts.

Additional 35 tonnes of emergency supplies will be shipped as part of the second expedition to help the victims more.

Earlier, Myanmar said a week of national mourning on Monday during the country’s devastating earthquake, while the number of deaths was 2000 and hopes have disappeared to find more survivors in the rubble of ruined buildings.

The national flags will fly half the mast until April 6 “in sympathy for the loss of lives and the damage” from the massive earthquake on Friday, the junta in power said in a press release.

The Junta also announced a minute of silence on Tuesday, to start at 12:51 p.m. – the precise time that the magnification earthquake of 7.7 hit.

People should stop where they have to pay tribute to the victims, said the junta, while the media should stop the dissemination and show mourning symbols, and prayers will be offered to temples and pagodas.
