The federal government said on February 5 as a holiday to observe the cashmere day. Meanwhile, the Pakistan State Bank also explained that it will have remained closed out of respect.
All government offices, banks and educational establishments will also be closed nationally, following an official notification published earlier.
The holidays are observed each year to express support for the inhabitants of Jammu-et-Cachemire of illegal occupation (Iiojk).
Public gatherings, seminars and human channels are planned in major cities, notably Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, to mark the occasion.
Political leaders and activists should participate in demonstrations highlighting Pakistan’s position on the cashmere dispute.
The federal government had previously published a vacation calendar in 2025, confirming on February 5 as federal holidays.
Provincial administrations, including Sindh, also announced a complete closure of government and semi-government institutions.
Markets, schools and other public spaces will remain closed, while roads in key areas can see disturbances due to planned processions.
Pakistan has observed the Solidarity Day of Kashmir since 1990, pleading for what it calls “the right to self -determination” for the Kashmiris.
The long -standing dispute on cashmere has been a key source of tensions between Pakistan and India, Islamabad urging resolution within the framework of the United Nations resolutions.
