Pakistan has strongly sentenced the Israel air strike to Doha targeting Hamas leaders, calling it “the most dangerous provocation” that threatens regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement on X, said that the attack was “illegal and odious” because it endangered the life of innocent civilians by hitting a residential area in the Qatari capital.
“This act of aggression by Israel is completely unjustified, a cheeky violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar, and constitutes a provocation of the most dangerous which could jeopardize regional peace and stability,” he said.
Expressing solidarity with Qatari leaders, he added that Pakistan “is firmly located with the state of Qatar, as well as with the people of Palestine against the aggression of Israel”.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar also condemned the strike, calling it “reprehensible” and a blatant violation of international law. He stressed that Pakistan “reiterates its unwavering support to the people and the state of Qatar in these serious times”.
Israel confirmed that he had led the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Israel has initiated him, Israel has led him and Israel assumes his full responsibility.”
Qatar, where Hamas has long maintained its political base, firmly condemned the “cowardly” strike, its Ministry of Foreign Affairs declaring it a “blatant violation of international laws and standards” which constituted a serious threat to the security of Qataris and residents.
Doha spokesperson, Majed Al Ansari, said that Qatar “would not tolerate this imprudent Israeli behavior”.
The international community has also expressed an alarm. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres described the attack on “blatant violation of sovereignty”, urging all parties to work towards a permanent ceasefire.
Saudi Arabia condemns and denounces the strongest of the brutal Israeli aggression and the flagrant violation of sovereignty of the fraternal state of Qatar.
The Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned of “the disastrous consequences resulting from the persistence of the Israeli occupation in its criminal violations and its blatant violation of the principles of international law and all international standards”.
Pope Leo described the situation as “very serious”, while Saudi Arabia denounced the strike as “brutal assault” with disastrous consequences for the region.
Lebanese president Joseph Aoun said it was part of Israel’s “series of assaults” against regional stability. Iran labeled the “dangerous” strike and a violation of international law, while the United Arab Emirates condemned it as an “loose” escalation and promised solidarity with Qatar.
Turkiye said that the targeting of the delegation of Hamas during the talks during the ceasefire proved that Israel had no intention of peace but that it was pursuing the “expansionist policy” and used “terrorism as a state policy”.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Israel’s attack on Hamas officials in Qatar was “dangerous” and a “violation of international law,” Iranian media reported.
Jordan and the United Arab Emirates also condemned Israeli strikes in Doha.
