Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their intention to work closely in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, to advance effective and sustainable terrorism strategies.
A press release confirmed that the last cycle of the Pakistan-US TERTERRORISM dialogue had taken place on Tuesday, where the two parties reiterated their common commitment to fight against terrorism in all its forms and demonstrations.
The dialogue was co -chaired by Nabeel Munnir, Special United Nations Secretary, and Gregory D Logerfo, acting coordinator for the fight against terrorism in the United States Department of State.
The delegations of the two countries have stressed the importance of developing effective measures to combat effective terrorism, in particular in relation to groups such as the Liberation Army of Balutchistan, Isis-Khorasan and Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The United States has welcomed Pakistan’s continuous efforts to contain terrorist groups that threaten regional and global peace. He also exercised condolences for the loss of civilians and law enforcement agents during recent terrorist attacks, including the bombing of Jaffar Express and the deadly school bus attack in Khuzdar.
The two delegations highlighted the need to build stronger institutional frameworks and improve capacity to meet emerging safety challenges, in particular the use of new technologies by terrorist groups.
Reaffirming the long -standing partnership between the two nations, the two parties have agreed that the sustained and structured commitment is crucial to counter terrorism and promoting peace and stability in the region.

Earlier, the United States has appointed the Bla and its alias, the major brigade, as foreign terrorist organizations (FTO), the State Department has published a statement on its website.
The press release also said that the major brigade had also been added as an alias to the list of specially designated world terrorists (SDGT), making it a crime in the United States to provide support for groups.
The Bla was appointed for the first time as SDGT in 2019 following several terrorist attacks. Since then, the group has claimed the responsibility of new violent incidents, including attacks by the Majeed brigade, added the press release.
Secretary of state Marco Rubio said today’s action underlines the Trump administration’s commitment to counter terrorism. “Terrorist designations play an essential role in our fight against this scourge and are an effective way to reduce support for terrorist activities,” said Rubio.
