The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice-Prime Minister Ishaq Dar asked the permanent representative of Pakistan to the United Nations to take immediate measures to convene a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

The meeting must address the security situation in force in South Asia, exacerbated by provocative actions of India, according to a statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The declaration revealed that Pakistan has decided to officially inform the United Nations Security Council on current regional tensions, in particular by highlighting the aggressive behavior of India.

Pakistan will also raise concerns concerning the illegal actions of India to suspend the Water Treaty in Indus (IWT), which regulates the use of the Indus River system.

“Pakistan will inform the Security Council on how the aggressive actions of India will endanger regional peace and security,” the statement said.

The ministry also stressed that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts are aimed at presenting facts to the international community to counter the provocative position of India.
