Islamabad:
The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan during the 32nd ministerial meeting of the Anase Regional Forum (ARF), which should be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July 11 (tomorrow).
The high-level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and the main representatives of 27 ARF member countries, as well as the Secretary General of the Anase, to deliberate on the main political and security challenges faced by the Asia-Pacific Region, a statement from the office of a DPM said.
The agenda will focus on strengthening peace, stability and multilateral cooperation thanks to a constructive dialogue.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar will articulate Pakistan’s perspective on regional and global developments, stressing the country’s commitment to multilateralism and peaceful conflict resolution. He should also hold bilateral meetings with his Malaysian counterpart and other foreign ministers who attended the forum.
During his stay in Kuala Lumpur, the DPM will also interact with members of the Pakistani diaspora in Malaysia.
Created in 1994, the ARF is a leading multilateral platform for political and security consultations in Asia-Pacific.
