Pakistan – United States is entering the new era: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif granted greetings in the United States on his 249th day of independence, declaring that bilateral ties are entering into a “new era” of cooperation and understanding.

Speaking during a ceremony organized by the United States Embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday, he congratulated the American people and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen relations between the two nations.

“On the 249th day of the independence of the United States, I sincerely welcome myself,” said Sharif. “We are committed to further strengthening our relations, and the two countries are entering a new partnership era,” he added.

He underlined the historical ties between the two nations, noting that the United States was among the first countries to recognize Pakistan after its independence in 1947.

“There are history of Pakistani – American relations,” said Sharif, adding: “The United States is one of the first countries to recognize Pakistan.”

The Prime Minister has also thought about Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism, highlighting the toll he pleaded on the nation.

“We have suffered immense losses in the war against terrorism,” he said. “The sacrifices of Pakistan in the efforts to fight terrorism are unparalleled.”

The event was followed by diplomats, civil and military officials and members of the Pakistani and international communities.
